Our client, a New York-based private developer asked Nilsson Associates to help them restore and renovate this beautiful, historic brownstone, townhouse in Brooklyn, New York. The project location is a vibrant residential neighborhood facing Manhattan from across the Brooklyn Bridge. It is within the historic Park Slope district adjacent to Brooklyn's wonderful Prospect Park designed by Fredric Law Olmsted. Our services included creating presentations for the NYC Landmarks Protection Commission (LPC) of historic facade restorations, and for the interior renovations. Our architectural design creates four, high-end residential, two and three bedroom apartments within the existing building and within new rooftop and rear yard additions. This design creates new utility and value within a spectacular historic property. The design will comply with LPC guidelines as well as the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Historic Buildings.
